Over the years, the artist has created several handmade publications ('artist's books'). Although a great deal of her figurative work contains strong literal and metaphorical narratives, the books illustrate these themes more directly.

The artist has used illustration as a cathartic tool over the years; a means of building dialogue with the self/ the world, during intense experiences, of which she has had many. This artistic approach has developed a rich language of imagery, and an ability to transcribe emotional/ spiritual/ energetic story into a near-phusical presence on the paper. She often combes multiple layers with hand-written text, and random spontaneous mark-making.
Her drawings are often deeply emotional, but with an aura of optimism and sensitivity; they are grounded and have a sense of wholeness. Her personal subject matter rotates around spiritual transformation and healing, and her commissioned work and illustration tend to focus on similar subtle ideas.
She has used her intuitive and prolific methodology to evolve an holistic philosophical stance; a deeply sensitive view of the world and our (potentially incredibly powerful) inter-relationship with it.

The artist has contributed illustrations on several occasions, to projects connected with the work of the playwright Robert McLellan. Her childhood was spent in High Corrie, where Robert was living until his death in 2000, and she was introduced by him to stories about the land and animals, and a wealth of knowledge about fairies! A festival of Robert's work is celebrated each year on the Isle of Arran.

Her imagery has evolved through a raw phase of healing in the late 90s, after graduation, into a strong, peaceful and balanced stance now: the artist uses the creative process to gain inner harmony through self-knowledge, with an understanding of the positive effect that this knowledge can have in a person's individual, community and global relationships (and beyond!)

All collaborations engage in vibrant dialogue, which then feeds into the work, and radiates outward on completion!
